Be especially careful in the first 24 hours after gel application and avoid intense heat during this period (eg. saunas, hot baths or sunbeds).
Always wash your hands thoroughly after being in contact with chlorine, insect repellant or sunscreen.
Always wear rubber gloves when washing up, gardening or cleaning. Strong detergents can cause gel to lift so this is another good reason to wear gloves!
Do not be tempted to file your gel nails between appointments as this will break the seal at the free edge. Doing this allows moisture to get in and can cause gel to lift.
Use cuticle oil daily to keep your nails and surrounding skin nourished, this is especially important through the Winter months. This will also promote the growth of your nails & keep them healthy.
Refrain from using your nails to open fizzy drinks or to pick away at sticky tape.
Never pick or peel the product off as this could damage your natural nail. Always return to salon for maintenance and safe removal of gels.
